Carolina
Covenant Church FAQs
Is Carolina Covenant Church affiliated with any larger group of churches?
Yes. Carolina Covenant Church is a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian
Church. This body of believers is a Biblically conservative, yet outreach-oriented
group of churches located primarily in the Southeast.
What is different about Carolina Covenant
Church?
There are at least three things that are distinctive about Carolina Covenant Church:
- Carolina Covenant is a church that is built on a belief that love for one
another is what distinguishes us from those who don’t yet know Jesus as
their Savior and friend. This love is felt from the first time you visit Carolina
Covenant and is evident in all its meetings and ministries. We give grace to one
another, encourage one another, and genuinely want the best for one another.
- Practical, Biblical teaching. We know that the Bible is God’s ageless
truth for how to live life. In our preaching and teaching times we learn how to
apply God’s truth to our lives in ways that honor Him and grow us.
- We are serious about reaching out to others. Carolina Covenant Church gives
at least 10% of its budget to missions—both local and foreign outreach.
In addition, we host events, such as the children’s carnival, with a goal
of simply showing others the love of Jesus, hoping they will return that love
to Him.
What missionaries do you support?
We currently support four missionaries serving in various parts of the world.
They are:
- Judi Hodges (Germany)
- Tat Stewart (Persian ministries)
- Andrew and Norine Brunson (Turkey)
- Ali Mitchell (North American outreach to Muslims)
What should I expect when I attend?
If you are a new guest at Carolina Covenant, please take advantage of the spaces
reserved for guest parking in front of the church. The dress is casual (ranging
from jeans to business casual) for worship services. The music is a blend of old
and new with the words projected on a built-in screen—relax, focus on God,
and sing what you know and learn. No one will put you on the spot and have you
raise your hand or embarrass you in any way—we’ve all had that done
to us and no one enjoys it. When the offering plate is passed, please do not feel
obligated to give—that is something for those who feel a connection to Carolina
Covenant. You may want to put your Connection Card in the plate as it is passed.
After the service you can get a cup of juice or coffee and a snack at our Covenant
Café, or you can simply slip out the back. After the service, no one will
call you or drop by without your invitation. We respect your privacy.
What if I have a prayer concern?
You can submit a prayer online. These requests are posted on a community prayer
exchange. They are open to anyone reading and praying for them, so keep that in
mind when deciding how much personal information to include. You may also email
the pastor at pastor@carolinacovenantchurch.com and your prayer request will become
a matter of prayer for the elders and prayer team.
Can I get financial assistance? How do I do that?
Possibly. Carolina Covenant Church supports the Fort Mill Care Center and we direct
all requests to the Care Center. The Fort Mill Care Center provides food, clothing,
and monetary assistance as appropriate to those in need. The center is located
at 513 Banks Street in Fort Mill and can be reached at 803-547-7850.
